Central Jersey Jazz Festival Brings Rutgers Alum Ralph Peterson Home To NB

Two day festival draws hundreds to downtown New Brunswick for full afternoon of free jazz.

Legendary drummer Ralph Peterson returned to New Brunswick last Saturday as part of the two-day Central Jersey Jazz Festival. Peterson, here performing with sax player Don Braden, was a Rutgers student when he joined with master drummer Art Blakey about three decades ago.

The New Brunswick Jazz project brought the free outdoor festival to the downtown. A second day of the festival was held in Somerville.
