East Jersey Old Town Village Opens For Season This Saturday
This fun and free family event will have historical reenactments, history tours and demos, children's crafts and more.
PISCATAWAY, NJ — East Jersey Old Town Village will have its opening weekend for the 2025 season this Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6.
The village will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. both days. This fun and free family event will have historical reenactments, history tours and demos, children’s crafts and more. Check out the Hometown Pride sports Exhibition at the Cornelius Low House Museum, highlighting nearly 100 years of Middlesex County's sports history through memorabilia from local high schools, Middlesex College and Rutgers University.
There will be food trucks (Il Forno a Legna Pizza and Flirty Desserts) on site, and The General Store will offer food from The Food Architects, including gourmet sandwiches, salads, house-made ranch chips, flavored lemonades and other snacks.

East Jersey Old Town Village is a collection of original, replica and reconstructed 18th- and 19th-century buildings representing the architecture found in central New Jersey’s early farm and merchant communities during the American Revolutionary War and 1800s. The village serves as an educational model, teaching the history, traditions, folk arts, and craftsmanship of the people who lived and worked in the region. East Jersey Old Town Village is located at 1050 River Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
East Jersey Old Town Village and the Cornelius Low House are free and open to the public Wednesday through Sunday year-round. Living history interpreters are on-site from April through October and have a packed schedule of special events for visitors to attend.

Visitors can visit both historic sites during the events through RIDE, the County’s shuttle service. This service provides FREE, accessible, on-demand transportation between East Jersey Old Town Village and The Cornelius Low House.
