Peele, 22, of Piscataway was among six young men arrested early this year in connection with an April assault on Delafield Street in New Brunswick, authorities said. Authorities have described that assault as an unprovoked attack on a group of people, including a student whose jaw was broken. All six men were aggravated assault, riot, and conspiracy to commit a riot in that case.

Peele and three other defendants were on the football team when they were arrested, but they have since been dismissed from the squad. The other two defendants in that case were former players.
