Man Killed In Rt. 18 Motorcycle Crash In New Brunswick
A Somerset man was killed while riding his motorcycle on Rt. 18 Monday night in the city of New Brunswick:
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man was killed while driving a motorcycle on Rt. 18 Monday night in the city of New Brunswick, according to city officials.
The fatal motorcycle crash happened at 6:56 p.m. Monday, Labor Day, said a New Brunswick city spokesman.
The motorcyclist killed was Andrew Nowakowski, 36, of the Somerset section of Franklin, according to New Brunswick Police public information officer Lt. Amish Shah. Police say he lost control of his motorcycle as he approached the curve on Rt. 18 south near the Rt. 1 ramp, and crashed.

The motorcyclist struck roadways signs; Nowakowski was ejected from the bike and his body was found near the grassy median area along Rt. 18.
Nowakowski was a lifelong resident of Somerset and one of his favorite pastimes was riding his motorcycle, according to his obituary. He worked as an MRI tech at Hunterdon Medical Center.
