Raices Announces New Location
The cultural nonprofit has moved its operations to Highland Park.

Raices Cultural Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to education and preservation of arts and culture, has found a new home in the Reformed Church of Highland Park.
Now located in the basement of the church, located on S. Second Avenue in Highland Park, the group will be able to continue their work in culture preservation, community gardening and community education.
The organization was previously housed in a space on Jersey Avenue.

"Through the seeds we planted several years ago in music, dance, visual arts, cultural archive, 4H club, cultural exchange program, eco culture, sustainable gardening component and our new seed bank initiative, we hope to contribute to the progressive flow of the church," co-director Francisco Gomez said, in the Raices blog.
Currently, Raices offers a free creative writing group at the church for kids and teens ages six and older. The group meets at 4:30 p.m. on Fridays in the church basement.
