Sweeping Victories for Cedar Hill Prep Girls Tennis Team

The tennis stars were unstoppable with record-breaking wins this season!

The CHP Girls Tennis Team had an outstanding season with a 5-2 record, sweeping most schools 5-0 during matches. Splitting a win with Princeton Day School and falling short 2-3 to Pingry, the girls played with dedication and determination throughout their season. Sophia Lai developed an effective strategy at the First Singles, which allowed her to assess her opponents and execute her plan of attack to accomplish six victories and only one defeat against Princeton Day School, during which she constantly battled for each point.

Aanya Vig, a new addition at Second Singles, also had six wins and one loss for the CHP Wildcats! Aanya’s final match and victory against Pingry was intense, as each point played lasted more than two minutes. Her stamina and calm demeanor helped to ensure the CHP win.

Zahra Shirley played consistently at Third Singles and humbly dominated her matches. Jwala Rajinikanth took on a new role at First Doubles this year and demonstrated leadership and teamwork, becoming a positive role model for her younger partner, Aaliyah Patel. Cedar Hill Prep was recognized and commended by other schools for their sportsmanship and level of performance. Coach Frankie is proud of her team and will definitely miss her eighth graders, especially the "Fab Four"- Sophia Lai, Zahra Shirley, Jwala Rajinikanth, and Nitara Baruah who started training with Coach Frankie since they were in sixth grade. The future continues to shine bright for the CHP Girls Tennis Team and we are proud of the team and Coach Frankie’s tireless efforts.
