Traffic Backup Beginning in New Brunswick Snarls Turnpike
The Turnpike is backed up heading south between Interchange 9 in New Brunswick and Interchange 8 in Cranbury.

Today may be a good day to stay late at work or stop for a drink before heading home: the roads are a mess out there, according to traffic reports.
The southbound lanes of the NJ Turnpike at Exit 9 are backed up due to heavy volume, according to traffic stats on 511nj.org.
The delay stretches from Interchange 9 to just north of Interchange 8A in Cranbury, according to the traffic website.
Route 18 isn't much better in the New Brunswick/East Brunswick area, with delays reported on Route 18 south between Paulus Boulevard and the entrance to the Turnpike.
Route 1 is also backed up in both directions in the area of Old Post Road in Edison.
