Woman, 70, Killed In Mountain Avenue Crash In Piscataway

PISCATAWAY, NJ — A 70-year-old South Bound Brook woman was killed June 6 in a car crash in Piscataway, according to police in that town.
The single-car crash happened at 1:40 p.m. last Thursday, June 6 on Mountain Avenue:
Carmela Green, 70, was driving on Mountain Avenue when she left the roadway, striking multiple trees, said Piscataway Police.

She was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where she died.
Her obituary is posted here online, and her grieving family says she died peacefully. Green is survived by her husband of 30 years, James Green, and her two sons, Thomas Durko and Anthony Durko. She worked as a caregiver at Somerset Woods in Somerset.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873. Memorial services will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
