Children of Faith Nursery School in New Providence proudly show the batter they prepared, leading to their baking brownies for St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark.
The brownies were part of the dinner prepared and served by members of Faith Lutheran Church at the Kitchen, which is located at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church. The dinner also included chili, rice, corn bread, oranges and cookies.

For the past twenty-six years, on the second Saturday of each month, members of Faith have been preparing and serving a meal at St. John’s.
The children’s involvement in this outreach program of Faith Lutheran is typical of the Nursery School. Other programs in which the children participate are the CROP Walk for Hunger, a Thanksgiving food collection, a Christmas sharing tree and Kids Closet Collection, the last two provide clothes for needy children.
