'Big Band Evolution' Hits Berkeley Heights Concert Series

Plus, the New Providence Farmers Market will be open and you can help a local family by dining at Beacon Hill Restaurant and Tavern in Summit.

Here’s what you need to know today:

You can “Dine for Brooke” Healey, a 4-year-old New Providence girl battling an inoperable brain tumor, at Beacon Hill Restaurant & Tavern in Summit all day. Brooke is the daughter of New Providence residents Stefani and Steve Healey. She was diagnosed in January with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, a very aggressive tumor in the middle of her brain stem. By mentioning Brooke’s name to your server today at Beacon Hill, 15 percent of your total bill will go to Brooke and her family.

The Special Events Committee & Berkeley Heights Recreation Commission will host one of the “Concerts in the Park” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. “Big Band Evolution,” an 18-piece band that plays current and recent hits, will play in Memorial Park. The concert series is presented by the Suburban Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.
