'Dine for Brooke' At Beacon Hill Tavern in Summit Wednesday

Community members can “Dine for Brooke” Healey, a 4-year-old New Providence girl who is battling an inoperable brain tumor, at Beacon Hill Restaurant & Tavern in Summit all day Wednesday. 

Organized by Kathy Folsom, you can mention Brooke’s name to the server while dining at Beacon Hill and 15 percent of your bill will go to the Healey family.

Brooke, the daughter of New Providence residents Stefani and Steve Healey, was diagnosed in January with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, very aggressive tumor in the middle of her brain stem. 

Since then, Brooke’s family has been “exploring alternative treatments, which can be very expensive,” according to the “Dine for Brooke” flyer. Brooke’s battle with DIPG has prompted numerous community members to organize fund-raisers to aid her family in their time of need.

"Brooke Healey has demonstrated the meaning of the word ‘COURAGE’ every day within her battle with cancer,” says New Providence Councilman Jim Madden. “She has become a ‘beacon of hope’ and constant source of inspiration within our community."

Councilman Madden will be one of the "special guest bartenders" Wednesday to lend his support to Brooke and her family. 

Beacon Hill is located at 16 Beechwood Rd. in Summit. Lunch is served 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., dinner is served 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and the bar is open from 11:30 a.m. to close.
