New Providence Police Blotter: May 31 - June 11

The following arrest information was supplied by the New Providence Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

5-31-2011 – Patrolman Chad Wilson arrested Sean Smith, 38, of Woodland Park on three outstanding warrants out Paterson Municipal Court.  Mr. Smith was originally stopped on Springfield Avenue for seat belt violations and was issued a summons.

6-5-11 – Corporal Daniel Henn arrested Maxwell Barth, 21, of Millington for driving while intoxicated.  The charges stem from Corporal Henn observing Mr. Barth operating his vehicle on Springfield Avenue and Lancaster Court at 1:20 a.m. Corporal Henn observed Mr. Barth stumbling and staggering as he exited his parked vehicle.  Mr. Barth was released to a family member with a pending court date.

6-5-11 – A resident reported that someone had utilized her credit card to make $50,000 dollars in fraudulent purchases in Texas.  The case is under investigation by the detective bureau.

6-6-11 – A resident reported that a fraudulent charge of $1,411.41 was placed on her debit card.  The charges were made in Spain.  The case is under investigation by the detective bureau.

6-7-11 – Patrols arrested Abel Lazo-Giron, 26, of Dover for theft of jewelry and money from a residence on Deerfield Road.  Mr. Lazo-Giron was an employee of a cleaning company that had stolen the jewelry while cleaning the home.  Several of the jewelry pieces were recovered.  Mr. Lazo-Giron also had outstanding warrants from Bernards Township, East Hanover and Roxbury.  Mr. Lazo-Giron was turned over to the Bernards Township Police Department.

6-8-11 – A resident of Brookside Drive reported that a Hammock was stolen from her front yard during the morning of June 3, 2011. The case is under investigation by the detective bureau.

6-10-11 – The New Providence Memorial Library reported that unknown individuals damaged the walls and ceilings in the men’s bathroom with several acts of graffiti.  The case is under investigation by the detective bureau.

6-11-11 – Patrolman Chad Wilson located three large garbage bags and two boxes full of empty alcohol bottles on Oakwood Drive near the Livingston Avenue path.
