Police are investigating a report of a dog bite to a resident of New Providence that occurred on July 9. The report states the victim was walking through the parking lot of Our Lady of Peace Church on South Street when a dog being walked by a couple attacked him and bite him on his left hamstring.  The dog was on a retractable leash at the time of the bite.  The dog is described as a small, white dog, with brown spots.  The couple is described as a white male in his 50's that was wearing a florescent green hat and a white woman in her 50's that was wearing a pink shirt.  Anyone that possibly witnessed this incident or can identify those involved is asked to contact the New Providence Police at 908-665-1111. This information was supplied by the New Providence Police Department.
