Man Used Counterfeit Money At Oakland Businesses: Police
He had $970 in counterfeit $10 and $20 bills and receipts from several local businesses where he made small purchases, police said.
OAKLAND, NJ — A man was caught with nearly $1,000 in counterfeit money and spent more at local businesses Monday, police announced.
Andrew Lochard, 29, was charged with several counts of forgery, theft, money laundering, and hindering apprehension.
Police officers responded to JB Pet Supply after getting a complaint that someone tried to pay for something using a counterfeit $20 bill and then left the store on foot, said Detective Lt. Christian Eldridge.

Police found Lochard walking on Ramapo Valley Road. They questioned and arrested him after he gave police a fake date of birth, Eldridge said.
Lochard had $970 in counterfeit $10 and $20 bills and receipts from several local businesses where he made small purchases throughout the day, Eldridge said.

Lochard was booked by Oakland police and remanded to the Bergen County Jail. Lochard was processed and subsequently remanded to the Bergen County Jail.
