Mecadon McCune is an emerging force in contemporary jazz, known for his expressive drumming, creative leadership, and deep musical sensibility. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Mecadon grew up immersed in music — his father, veteran jazz pianist Brandon McCune, and his mother, opera singer Christine Clemmons-McCune, shaped his early artistic world and exposed him to the breadth of musical expression from a young age. A rising star on the jazz scene, Mecadon was awarded the $10,000 James Moody Jazz Scholarship, one of New Jersey’s most prestigious honors for young musicians, enabling him to pursue a degree in Jazz Performance at Montclair State University.
