Princeton YWCA Launches "100 Women, 100 Ways, 100 Days Challenge"

The Breast Cancer Resource Center (“BCRC”) of the Princeton YWCA Princeton has issued a challenge to all women to each raise $100 in 100 days to help the center support local women affected by breast cancer.

The 100 Women, 100 Ways, 100 Days Challenge, runs from February 4 to May 13 with the 100th day ending on Mother’s Day. The goal is to raise $10,000 to support the Breast Cancer Resource Center’s free programs and services.

Challenge participants can do almost anything to raise the
funds, from the simple to the extravagant, from the ordinary to the unusual. Examples include hosting a cocktail party, brunch, or wine & cheese. Kids and teenagers are encouraged to save their allowance, walk dogs, or coordinate a school talent show or bake sale. Other fundraising suggestions are encouraged.

According to a news release, “Almost everyone knows someone who has had breast cancer – a mother, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, daughter, friend, co-worker or neighbor,” says Kara Stephenson, BCRC’s Director. “But many of these women will have gone through the breast cancer experience without the crucial emotional and physical support that is the cornerstone of our mission. We want to make sure that no one has to go through breast cancer without information or support, but we need help to make that happen.”

The challenge is open to individuals, schools, churches, clubs, teams, moms’ groups, scout troops, corporations, small businesses, community groups, and industry associations.
