Burglary, Criminal Mischief: Princeton Police Blotter

Two catalytic converter thefts were reported in Princeton.

PRINCETON, NJ – The Princeton Police blotter dated Jan. 16 had the following reports:

On Jan. 11 around 7:09 p.m., police were informed that unknown actor(s) stole several credit cards and debit cards from two purses located inside the woman’s trunk while her vehicle was parked on Alexander Street. The woman and her friend then began receiving notifications of attempted purchases with the stolen cards at several stores located inside Nassau Park Boulevard in West Windsor.

On Jan. 11, 4:33 p.m., A 29-year-old Toms River man arrived at the police headquarters and told authorities that he wished to turn himself in due to being an NCIC Wanted Person out of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office. He was placed under arrest and processed after the warrant was confirmed to be active. The man was later turned over to officers of the Ocean County Sheriff's Office.

On Jan. 11, 1:19 p.m., a resident reported that an unknown actor(s) stole her catalytic converter while her vehicle was parked in her driveway on Harris Road.

Jan. 15, 2:27 p.m., a man told police that an unknown actor(s) used unknown means to remove the catalytic converter from his vehicle while it was parked on Leigh Avenue.

Jan. 14, 12:07 a.m., following a traffic stop for speeding, the driver, a 24-year-old Princeton woman, was found to have multiple active warrants out of Robbinsville Township and East Windsor Township Municipal Courts totaling $2,250. The woman was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, and processed accordingly. She was later released on her own recognizance after being issued several motor vehicle summonses.

On Jan. 13, 4:23 p.m., the general manager of a retail establishment on Nassau Street reported that a suspect entered the store and shoplifted eight men’s wool beanie style hats valued at approximately $544. The suspect placed the items underneath the back of his jacket and then left the store without paying for the items. The suspect is described as a black male with light complexion, light beard, approximately 40-50 years old, and wearing glasses.
