PRINCETON, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Robin Birkel of Princeton, who nominated her former neighbor Alexandra Stough a Princeton High School alumna who now lives and works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Alexandra Stough is on the battlefield, working exhausting hours with a lot of overtime. She has to help her patients both physically and mentally at a time when they are fearing for their lives. It is more stressful for her since she doesn't have the experience of a seasoned doctor and has to make quick decisions. She's clever, comforting, and a hard worker with few complaints. She works at two hospitals and some of the doctors are testing positive, meaning more work for those remaining. They don't have enough tests to monitor the health of the doctors, but are temperature screening them, so some are working asymptomatic. This is all in downtown Philadelphia where the cases far exceed those of her hometown of Princeton.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Alexandra Stough goes beyond the call of duty, whether it be for family, friends, or work. Her reliability, excellent patient care, and stamina allow her to go that extra mile for those in need.

Thank you for all you do, Alexandra!
