A selection of fun and interesting things to do in Princeton, Sept. 16-18.

Friday, Sept. 16

will be on disply at 19 Hulfish St. (next to ) in Palmer Square, Friday-Sunday. Hours are: Sept. 16, 5-9 p.m., Sept. 17, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sept. 18, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. 

Find wildflowers, shrubs, grasses, trees and ferns indigenous to central New Jersey for sale at at the nursery outside The Johnson Education Center at 1 Preservation Place.

The will perform in Richardson Auditorium in Alexander Hall at at 8 p.m. A pre-concert talk will begin at 7 p.m. Repertoire includes Beethoven Quartet for Strings No. 16 in F Major, Op. 135 and Beethoven Quartet for Strings in A Minor, Op. 132. Tickets are free and available to the public.

Saturday, Sept. 17

Princeton Regional Airport celebrates its 100th birthday with a Centennial Open House from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., 41 Park Road. The free, family-friendly day will include a display of planes through the ages- warbirds, homebuilts, aerobatics, plus lots of activies for kids. 

Terhune Orchards will host a Fall Harvest on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-5p.m., 330 Cold Soil Road, Lawrence. The weekend, repeated throughout the fall, features pick-your-own applies and pumpkins, a corn stalk maze, pony rides and more. Admission is $5 (children under 3 free). 

The at begins at 10 a.m. at Butler’s Bloomberg Hall. Walkers and runners are welcome and the race is open to the public. Registration is a $5 minimum donation or a non-perishable food item for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Check-in and same-day registration will begin at 9 a.m. The rain date for the race is Sunday, Sept. 18.

will host from 10 a.m. -2 p.m., part of the final day of a treasure hunt that began Sept. 1 and must be completed by noon on Saturday to qualify for a $2,000 grand prize. Enjoy live music, pirates with parrots, a kid’s costume contest for those who come dressed in pirate or damsel costumes, pirate crafts and activities, a children’s treasure hunt, and a pirate shop built out of Pirate’s Booty snacks. 

 

Sunday, Sept. 18

Come enjoy singer-songwriter and graduate discuss and premiere her video, “Going Under,” at the , at 3 p.m. The video features Donner performing with sock puppets sent to her by fans. Bring a sock and you will be invited to create your own “sockstar.” Other materials will be supplied.

Have questions about the proposal to merge Princeton Borough and Township? The Princeton Community Democratic Organization will host a free, public debate on consolidation on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the , 45 Stockton Street. A panel of local Democrats will discuss two main questions: What’s different this time? What’s a progressive Democrat to do? The panelists will respond to written questions from the audience.
