Princeton Resident Threatens Man, Charged With Robbery: Police

The incident took place in the area of Nassau Street. The victims was able to flee without injury, police said Wednesday.

PRINCETON, NJ – A Princeton man was arrested and charged with robbery after he threatened a victim with violence on Monday, Princeton police said.

On Monday at 5:09 p.m., officers responded to a reported robbery that occurred in the area of 259 Nassau Street.

The man said he was walking in the parking lot, when another man, later identified as Austen Rosario, 20, exited his parked vehicle and approached him from behind.

Rosario threatened the man with physical violence and demanded money from him, police said. Rosario stood in front of the man and blocked him from walking on Nassau Street during the altercation.

A passerby approached their location and the man was able to run away from the scene, police said.

No physical altercation took place, and the man was not injured, according to police.

Rosario returned to his vehicle and fled the scene before patrols arrived.

After an exhaustive investigation conducted by both the Patrol and Detective Bureaus, Rosario was identified as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Tuesday, at 3:53 p.m., Rosario was arrested on Franklin Avenue by Princeton Police detectives without incident.

He was charged with robbery and taken to the Mercer County Correctional Center.
