Reports of Shots Fired at Princeton University "Unfounded"

The report came in shortly before 9 p.m.

A report of possible gunshots at Nassau Hall on the Princeton University campus led to the building being cordoned off and a floor by floor search of the building, although nothing was ultimately found.

It was shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday that someone inside Nassau Hall reported  possible "shots fired," promoting both Princeton University's Department of Public Safety and Princeton Police to respond quickly, lest there be a case of an active shooter on the Ivy League campus.

Shortly thereafter, Princeton Police told Patch that it appeared the initial report was unfounded.

Shortly before 10 p.m., Princeton University tweeted the following, "@PrincetonPolice searched building, found nothing. They believe reports of gunshots were unfounded."
