According to the commission's report, full consolidation of the two municipalities would save Princeton taxpayers about $3.16 million annually. The municipalities already share numerous services, including a regional school district, a library and planning and health boards.
Some have questioned the accuracy of those savings with the additional cost to extend the borough’s solid waste pickup throughout the township.
