The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:

PRINCETON, NJ — On Sept. 11, at 7:12 p.m., the Princeton Police Department received a report of a bicycle theft. The victim reported that their bicycle, a Trek Precaliber 8-Speed with 20-inch wheels, red/maroon in color and valued at approximately $400, had been stolen from outside of a school. The incident occurred between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. The bicycle had been left unsecured and was not locked at the time of the theft. There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time, police said.

On Sept. 11, at 11:03 p.m., a woman told police that an unidentified person, claiming to be with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), attempted to deceive them into sending $5,000 after being informed that she had a warrant out for her arrest. The unknown person told the woman that the funds were needed to resolve legal issues. The woman realized it was a scam and did not suffer any monetary loss as a result of this incident.

On Sept. 12, at 7:19 p.m., Princeton Police took a 55-year-old Trenton resident into custody on active warrants stemming from a shoplifting investigation. The investigation began on Aug. 30, when officers were dispatched to a business located on Nassau Street for the report of a prior shoplifting incident. According to the on-scene investigation, the man had stolen merchandise valued at around $5,987 from CVS over multiple incidents between April 9, and August 30. As a result, a complaint warrant was issued charging Henderson with two counts of Shoplifting. On Sept. 12, the West Windsor Police Department contacted Princeton Police after taking the man into custody. He was later transported to Princeton Police Headquarters, where he was formally placed under arrest, and processed. Henderson was then transported to the Mercer County Correctional Facility, where he was turned over to the agency.

On Sept. 14, at 3:26 a.m., patrols were dispatched to Westerly Road for the report of a fire alarm activation. On the arrival of patrols and the Princeton Fire Department, Plainsboro Fire Department, Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory Fire Station, and the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad, a fire was located inside the attached garage of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no other signs of smoke or fire were located. The incident is currently under investigation by the Princeton FD and the Princeton Fire Marshal's Office.
