The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:

PRINCETON, NJ — On July 8, at 2:20 p.m., patrol officers responded to a business on Hulfish Street following a report of shoplifting that occurred approximately five minutes earlier. Further investigation revealed that two unknown Black females collectively stole around $2,050 in merchandise before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

  • Suspect 1: Black female, possibly in her early 20s, with a long-braided hairstyle, slim build, wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey sweat shorts, and pink sneakers.
  • Suspect 2: Black female, possibly in her early 20s, with a long-braided hairstyle, heavyset build, wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, light pink legging/pants, and pink flip-flops.

On July 8, at12:19 a.m., following a motor vehicle stop for Failure To Keep Right, the driver and solo occupant was found to be operating her motor vehicle while intoxicated. The 37-year-old Plainsboro resident was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. She was issued summonses for failure to keep right, driving while intoxicated, failure to provide breath samples, and reckless driving. The woman was provided with a court date and then was released to a sober adult.

On July 9, at 4:58 p.m., patrols responded to a bank on Nassau Street for the report of a suspicious man attempting to cash a fraudulent check. The on-scene investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as a 35-year-old Bronx, NY resident, presented staff with an altered check in the amount of $7,915 in an attempt to cash it, but was ultimately unsuccessful. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed accordingly. The man was charged with Criminal Attempt, Theft by Deception, Bad Checks, Forgery, and Criminal Simulation. He was provided with a court date and subsequently released from police custody.

On July 9, 1:11 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Birch Avenue for the report of a landlord/tenant dispute. The investigation revealed that the previous property owner/accused, had been served with an eviction notice, which clearly stated that he had until July 09 at 11:30 a.m. to retrieve any personal belongings from the premises. The Millstone resident returned to the dwelling after the time allowed, made entry into the residence, and subsequently took $250 in items. He was arrested at the scene and transported to headquarters, where he was processed. The 82-year-old was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal trespass and was later released after he was provided with a court date.

On July 10, 5:45 p.m., patrols responded to a business on Palmer Square West regarding a reported shoplifting incident that occurred in the past. The store manager informed them that an adult Hispanic male and an adult Hispanic female entered the store and stole numerous beauty products from the display shelf, with a total value of $5,750.

Suspect descriptions are as follows:

  • Adult Hispanic Female: Approximately 35 years old, with black ponytail hair. She was wearing black-framed reading glasses, hoop earrings, a black tank top, white shorts, and white Converse shoes, and she was holding a black shopping bag.
  • Adult Hispanic Male: In his 40s, approximately 5'7" tall with an average build. He was wearing a black baseball-style hat, a black polo shirt, blue jeans, a ring on his right pinky finger, and a watch on his left wrist.

On July 12, 10:13 a.m., a woman reported that her bicycle was stolen from the back area of her residence on Nassau Street. She said that the incident occurred between July 10, and July 12, while the bicycle was secured to a bicycle rack with a locking cable, which the suspect(s) destroyed during the theft. As a result of this incident, the woman incurred a monetary loss of approximately $655.
