Theft By Deception, Lewdness, Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Princeton Police blotter

The Princeton Police blotter dated Sept. 30 had the following reports:

The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:

PRINCETON, NJ - On Sept. 23, 5:30 a.m., following a motor vehicle stop for failure to maintain the lane of travel, the driver, a Princeton resident, was arrested after he was found to have six warrants for his arrest from multiple jurisdictions, totaling $5,304. The 28-year-old was placed under arrest and taken to headquarters for processing. In addition, he was issued motor vehicle summonses for unlicensed operation, unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle, and failure to maintain lane. Following processing, he was released on his own recognizance with new court dates.

On Sept. 24, 4:05 p.m., patrols responded to Bunn Drive for the report of a man who was reported to be defecating in front of a school and also exposing his genitals. The Richmond, VA resident was arrested and taken to headquarters, where he was charged with Lewdness. After processing, the 69-year-old was released on his own recognizance with a court date.

On Sept. 26, at 5:55 p.m., following a report of suspicious activity, the accused, a Boca Raton, FL resident, was arrested after he was found to be operating a vehicle that was reported stolen from the West Windsor Police Department. The 41-year-old was arrested and taken to headquarters for processing. He was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and ultimately turned over to the West Windsor Police Department.

On Sept. 26, 3:22 p.m., a local business owner reported being the victim of a theft by deception. The woman told officers that she had been in contact with a seller on Facebook and arranged to purchase a bracelet for $250 and sent payment via Apple Cash. Shortly after, the seller requested a second payment of $250, claiming there was an issue with the first transaction. After the woman sent the additional payment, the seller stopped all communication and blocked the victim on Facebook. In total, the woman suffered a financial loss of $500.

On Sept. 29, 11:55 a.m., a woman told police that on Sept. 27, sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., her wallet, which contained cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, identification, and other personal items, was discovered missing. Shortly after, the woman received multiple fraud alerts indicating attempts to use the stolen credit and debit cards to make a $1,400 purchase at an Apple Store. The woman believes that the theft may have occurred in Princeton while she was at work or while shopping. There are no suspects at this time.
