Three Not-To-Miss Local Events This Weekend

See the world premiere of "I Grew Up in Princeton," take a haunted hayride and enjoy an evening with Pulitzer Prize winning authors.

World premiere of Brad Mays' documentary, "I Grew Up in Princeton." The film is a coming-of-age story about Princeton during the 1960s and 70s." The film features dozens interviews with notable Princeton residents at the time. The film is described as a "deeply personal perspective on how perception played a role in a town split racially, economically and sociologically. Friday at 8 p.m. 

In its seventh year, the annual Norseville Haunted Hayride promises to be one of best Halloween thrills for your money.  The neighbors and friends of this tight-knit community pull together to create many frightening scenes throughout their neighborhood. In years past, riders have experienced being chased by zombies on motorcycles, driving through a dark and foggy cemetery filled with axe-wielding ghosts, watching as creatures fall from trees, seeing an innocent girl being barbecued alive, and so much more.. A family-friendly Harvest Hayride will be from 5-6 p.m., Saturday. Boarding for the Haunted Hayrides begins at 7 p.m. and will continue throughout the evening.

The Friends of the Princeton Public Library hosts an evening called "Beyond Words: Tastes of New York. The evening begins at 6 p.m.  at Nassau Presbyterian Church with three Pulitzer Prize-winning authors.  Longtime New Yorker contributor John McPhee will introduce the participants in the evening's featured conversation: David Remnick, editor of the New Yorker and Paul Muldoon, poetry editor of The New Yorker.  The evening continues at the library where Witherspoon Street will be transformed into a street fair featuring New York's finest gourmet food trucks, entertainment and a silent auction. Saturday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
