University Finishes "Possible Gunshots" Investigation, Determines No Danger
The sound was likely caused by a maintenance repair, officials said.

The report of possible gunshots on the Princeton University campus earlier this week was likely a maintenance worker fixing a door at Nassau Hall, according to a report posted on the University's website Thursday night.
A report of possible gunshots atNassau Hall on the Princeton University campus led to the building being cordoned off and a floor by floor search of the building, although nothing was ultimately found.
It was shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday that someone inside Nassau Hall reported possible "shots fired," promoting both Princeton University's Department of Public Safety and Princeton Police to respond quickly, lest there be a case of an active shooter on the Ivy League campus.
Nassau Hall was cordoned off and officers conducted a floor by floor search of the building. Nothing was found.
On Thursday, the University reported that its Department of Public Safety's investigation "determined that a hammer hitting a chisel during a repair on Nassau Hall was the likely sound that was interpreted as gunshots," according to the University's website.
