Woody Allen Scripts on Display, Trinity Church Rummage Sale and More

Looking for things to do this week? Here's a highlight of what's going on in Princeton.

Monday

An exhibit of Woody Allen's film scripts opens today at Princeton University Library's Eighteenth-Century Window. The exhibit includes the following scripts: Annie Hall, Midnight in Paris, Sleeper, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Hannah and her Sisters, Vicki Cristina Barcelona, What's New, Pussycat? and Manhattan. Part of an extensive collection of Woody Allen's papers that have been donated to the University. The exhibit will be on display until Oct. 28. 1 p.m. 

Today is the first day of an exhibit by Felix Gonzalez-Torres called "Untitled" at Princeton University Art Museum and throughout the greater Princeton area. The Museum has installed one of Gonzalez-Torres’s billboards in twelve locations in the area including the plaza just outside the museum's front door. Created at the height of the AIDS crisis, it features a haunting image of an empty bed, evoking the tensions and emotions between intimacy and publicity, loss and desire. 

Tuesday

Flu Shots and Health Fair at the Princeton Senior Resource Center. Flu shots are free with a Medicare part B card, otherwise $20. Free screenings for balance, hearing, vision, cholesterol and more. Call for appointment. 1-5:30 p.m. 

Wednesday

Monday Morning Flower and Balloon Co.  will host a night of pumpkin floral arranging. Make your home extra festive and create your own floral arrangement in a pumpkin, Enjoy wine and refreshments while you personalize your home fall decor. Register, 6 p.m. 

Come view the 2012 documentary movie Orchestra of Exiles, directed by Academy Award-nominated Josh Aronson. The film tells the story of violinist Bronislaw Huberman's courageous rescue of nearly 1,000 Jewish musicians from the grip of Hitler's Germany. This event serves as a prelude to the Princeton Symphony Orchestra's Nov 3 Eternal Light concert featuring Aaron Jay Kernis' cello concerto Colored Field, the composer's personal artistic response to the Holocaust. Princeton Public Library Community Room, 7 p.m.

McCarter Theater will hold a "relaxed"' performance of "The White Snake" for those with autism, learning differences or other sensory and communication needs. adjustments will be made in sound and light, staff with be on hand to assist parents and caregivers, a family restroom with be available and there will be designated activity and relaxation areas in the lobby. 7 p.m. 

Thursday

Princeton Family YMCA's Centennial Awards. Cocktail reception and silent auction. Honoring those who exhibit outstanding commitment to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, and who consistently demonstrate the YMCA's four core values. The occasion will also mark the 20th Anniversary of Princeton Young Achievers. Honorees include Barbara Blumenthal, Carol Golden, Clayton Marsh, Anne Reeves, Shirley Satterfield, Shirley Paris (posthumously), and the Corella & Bertram F. Bonner Foundation. 6 p.m. 

Greenwood House Celebrates "the Committee of Twenty." Nearly 40 years ago, twenty philanthropic women joined together to raise funds for Greenwood House, a nonprofit, nonsecrtarian organization providing care and services to seniors and their loved ones. Now a new team of women are coming together to present "Friendship and Fashion,"  featuring elegant lunch, exclusive fashion show by Neiman Marcus of King of Prussia, and the chance to win a stole by Loro Piana and a Chanel handbag. Tickets required, 11:15 a.m. 

Friday

The Historical Society of Princeton will lead a 45 minute walk through Princeton Cemetery, referred to as the "Westminster Abbey of the United States." See the final resting places of Princeton's prominent citizens, including a U.S. president, vice-president and Civil War soldiers. Registration required, 4 p.m. 

Fall Rummage Sale at Trinity Episcopal Church - Preview Sale. The sale will offer shoppers an exclusive first chance before the crowds the following day. Open departments include the Men's and Ladies Fashions, This 'n That, Jewelry, Linens, Artwork, Furniture and Books. 6:30-9 p.m. 

Opera MODO Presents Charles Gounod's grand opera Faust, 7:30 p.m.
