World Premiere of the Documentary, "I Grew Up in Princeton"
Looking for things to do in Princeton today? Here are some highlights.

Pianist and composer Jesse Fischer will conduct a workshop at Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, discussing the art of listening and improvising as a group. The workshop will include a demonstration on how to use a vocoder in modern jazz and finish with a Q&A segment. Participants are encouraged to bring their instruments for a hands-on experience. 4 p.m.
World premiere of Brad Mays' documentary, "I Grew Up in Princeton." The film is a coming-of-age story about Princeton during the 1960s and 70s." The film features dozens interviews with notable Princeton residents at the time. The film is described as a "deeply personal perspective on how perception played a role in a town split racially, economically and sociologically. Friday at 8 p.m.
"Sound Bites" featuring Jesse Fischer & Soul Cycle. Fischer, a Princeton native, focuses on catchy, infectious grooves and memorable melodies. His music easily crosses boundaries between jazz, soul, and pop. Jesse Fischer and Soul Cycle will demonstrate various techniques during their performance including a display on how to use a vocoder in modern jazz. Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, 8 p.m.
Princeton Folk Music Society presents Anne Hills, one of contemporary folk music’s premier vocalists. In addition to her voice and song writing, Hills accompanies herself with skill on guitar and banjo. Christ Congregation Church, 8:15 p.m.
