2013-14 School Calendar Includes Late Start for Students
When is the first day of school? What days do students get off for winter and spring breaks and holidays? Check out key dates for the 2013-14 school year in Ramsey.
A quick trip to many of Ramsey’s shopping centers will confirm what students around the borough are fearing – Back to School shopping has started already.
Though it may seem like school just let out, the 2013-14 school year in Ramsey starts in just seven weeks.
While you are preparing for the new school year, be sure to remember the following important dates released by the district earlier this year when the Board of Education approved the school calendar above.

- The first day of school for students is September 9. Teachers start September 3, though.
- Kids will go to school everyday in October, save one half-day in-service.
- After being canceled last year due to Sandy, the NJEA Convention is back this November. Kids will have two days off there, and two for the Thanksgiving holiday break.
- Winter break extends from Tuesday, December 24 through Wednesday, January 1.
- It’s one day off each in February and March, the 17th for President’s Day and the 25th for a teacher in service. If too many snow days are used, March 25 will be the first day added back into the calendar.
- Spring Break is happening Monday April 7 through Friday, April 11. Students also have April 18 – Good Friday – off.
- May brings only one day off, Memorial Day May 26.
- Ramsey High School’s Class of 2014 will graduate June 20.
