Developer to Talk Proposed Apartment's Traffic Impacts, Architecture

Experts will testify about the proposed development this Thursday.

This Thursday night, a developer proposing to build a luxury apartment complex across the street from the Route 17 train station is scheduled to explain more of its plan at a special Board of Adjustment meeting.

According to Richard Berger, the attorney for Russo Development, several experts are set to testify about the proposal at the meeting. It is set to pick up where the last one left off, taking questions from the public about the potential economic impacts of the development.

Experts on deck to testify at the meeting are Charles Olivo, a traffic engineer planning to testify about the traffic impacts of the 196-unit complex, and David Minno, the project’s architect, who will talk about the layout and appearance of the development.

If all three experts can get through their testimonies at Thursday night’s meeting, Berger said he would anticipate needing only one more special meeting to finish up its presentation to the board. A civil engineer is the only expert left to testify, he said.

“We are nearing the end of this application,” Berger said.

Russo has been appearing in front of the board at meetings since the beginning of the year seeking site plan approval and a variance for the proposed luxury apartment complex.

Thursday’s meeting is open to the public, and starts at 8 p.m. at borough hall.
