Rt. 17 Closed For 7 Hours After Truck Knocked Wires Down
The highway was closed after a tractor-trailer knocked down wires on the northbound side of the highway.

RAMSEY, NJ — Route 17 was closed in both directions for nearly seven hours after a tractor-trailer hit power lines Friday afternoon.
The driver hit the wires on the northbound side of the highway near QuickChek and the wires fell across both sides of Route 17 at about 2:45 p.m., said Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney.
Both sides of the highway were open by nearly 10 p.m.

Orange & Rockland sent a crew out to work repairing the wires and two utility poles, Gurney said.
Route 17 was closed in both directions for hours Feb. 4 after power lines fell across the highway in Saddle River.
