To help beat the heat, Patch reached out to locals on our Facebook page, and asked for suggestions on where to go to keep cool. These were the suggestions we got:

  1. Ramsey Municipal Pool – If you’re not a pool member, you can get a guest pass if you attend with a member. Guest passes are $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. You can also join with a ten-pass membership for $120. Due to the heat, the pool announced on Facebook it will stay open until 9 p.m. this Friday.
  2. Darlington County Park – You can go for a swim at Darlington. If you’re not a parks member, call (201) 327-3500 for information.
  3. Crestwood Lake in Allendale – Non-residents can buy a $10 daily guest pass.
  4. Ramsey Library – The library’s got a long list of events happening this week, including a movie night for elementary schoolers. Check out all of the events on its website.
  5. Cool, sweet treats – A bunch of our Facebook friends recommended picking up some ice cream or frozen yogurt to cool off. Try Planet Swirl, Angelo’s Desserts and Espresso Café, or Carvel on Main Street, or tcby on Franklin Turnpike.
  6. Ramsey Cinema – Cool off while checking out Despicable Me 2 all week long. Lone Ranger is playing through Tuesday, and Turbo begins its run at the theater Wednesday.
