Ramsey drivers may want to double check fire zones and ‘No Parking’ signs a little more closely. Parking tickets in Ramsey are going to be a bit more expensive after the borough council verbally agreed to a recommendation from Ramsey’s municipal court and police department.
Parking violators will now pay $50 per ticket, the maximum allowed in Ramsey’s court fee ordinance. Previously, parking tickets cost $43.

Borough Administrator Bruce Vozeh explained at a council meeting Wednesday night that Municipal Court Administrator Linda Campion and representatives from the Ramsey Police Department recommended making the switch to the maximum penalty allowed without having to rewrite the ordinance.
Comparatively, officials said the Ramsey fine is still low. The New Jersey statute maximum parking violation fee is $54, Vozeh said.
