Ramsey Resident Voted Boys State Mayor
967 participants from around the state are currently attending the weeklong conference.

A Ramsey High School student is among 18 that were voted into leadership roles at the 68th annual session of the American Legion Jersey Boys State Conference, happening this week in Trenton.
Each year, about 1,000 high school juniors from around the state are chosen to be delegates at the conference. Boys State sets up government structures, and elects delegates to fill government positions.
“In the Jersey Boys State structure, mayors are the leaders of their city,” ALJBS explained in a release Tuessday. “From the moment of their election, each mayor is expected to serve as a model statesman and is charged with leading his city in day-to-day operations. Mayors, along with other city officials are responsible for the passage and enforcement of new laws, the general appearance of the city, and the city manual.”
