The debut of the Ram Pride Girls Basketball Camp was a great success.
The unrelenting 95-plus degree heat was no match for this hard-working and extremely enthusiastic group of about 24 campers, who attended the four-day camp July 15 through 18. Campers, ranging from incoming fourth to ninth graders, were taught various types of both offensive and defensive skills by the Ramsey High School girls varsity basketball players.

The budding basketball players participated in skill stations, full court drills and games, shooting and dribbling competitions, and both three-on-three and five-on-five scrimmages.
Guest speakers, including Richie Sean from NYC Club Fitness in Allendale, former Ramsey boys basketball head coach Bob Beigel, and former Saint Peter's College standout and head women's basketball coach, Steph DeWolfe stopped by the camp to talk to campers about fitness and conditioning, offensive x's and o's, and basketball life at the next level, respectively.

I'm so proud of how the varsity players represented the program and made connections with the campers. They truly love basketball and their pride and work ethic was evident in how much fun these campers had this week. It was great to see and the bonds they forged represent a big step for our program. Next year we're going bigger and better!
