The Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club celebrated Independence Day by donning uniforms to play in the Ramsey Stars and Stripes Softball Game against a team composed of Ramsey Police, Fire, and EMS members.
Led by Captain (and BH/R Rotary Sergeant-at-Arms) Kevin O'Rourke, members of the BH/R Rotary Club played hard and well in a game that served as a fundraiser for VFW Post 682.
As temperatures pushed north of 90 degrees they had fun scoring eight runs, though the excellent Ramsey team eventually took the day. As it was for a good cause, all were happy to participate.
During his last at-bat, Rotarian Rich Farnham hit a home run over the left field fence, guaranteeing an additional donation to the BH/R Rotary Club’s commitment to VFW Post 682.
