A Cool Dog Days of Summer

The recurring monthly event is called Dog Days of Summer. But, the last two of the new last Tuesday of the month (mostly) summer event are in the fall.

Dog Days has been a success since it first started on the last Tuesday in July. People bring their leashed pooches and peruse Monmouth Street, which is partially closed off. They socialize, shop and eat.

The event was a hot one from the start — literally. But, last night's Dog Days was a bit cooler — in temperature, that is.

And, with nightfall hitting earlier, as it does in the fall, some headed home earlier as well. Still, the night was a success. You might call it the coolest yet.

Take a look at the photos above for a mini glimpse into the evening. And, don't forget that the next Dog Days will be a gala Halloween celebration that's really going to the dogs.

Who did we miss this time? Send a picture of your pooch to elaine.develde@patch.com and it will be included.
