Community Org. Donates 100 Winter Coats To Red Bank Families
For this year's Giving Tuesday, Community Offshore Wind donated a total of 1,000 coats to New Jersey and New York families in need.
RED BANK, NJ — For this year’s Giving Tuesday, Community Offshore Wind donated 500 winter coats to families in need throughout New Jersey, including 100 coats that were donated to Red Bank families.
Each year, Giving Tuesday is held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving as a day when people are encouraged to donate time, money, or resources to charitable causes.
The offshore wind development group partnered with the Mid-Atlantic States Career and Education Center, Ironbound Community Corporation, Linden Public Schools and the Red Bank-based organization Lunch Break to provide new coats to residents throughout Newark, Linden, Red Bank and Pennsville.

“At a time when many families are struggling to keep up with the cost of living, a new coat can be a major expense,” said Doug Perkins, the president and project director of Community Offshore Wind. “Community Offshore Wind is proud to work with our partners in communities across the state to help families bridge the gap this winter season while supporting a local, woman-owned business.”
Since its launch in 2022, Community Offshore Wind has been an active neighbor to NJ communities.
The group has donated thousands of pounds of locally sourced seafood to hunger relief organizations, provided school supply kits for 400 NJ students, and offered interactive STEM-based summer field trips to over 60 students.
“We see ourselves as a part of the communities we work in, and we are committed to helping meet the needs of our neighbors,” Perkins said. “We look forward to working with our partners in Trenton and communities around the state to deliver new benefits, including hundreds of good jobs, to the Garden State.”
