It's a way to make it easier for people to shop local this and support Red Bank small businesses.

"Feeding the meter is one less thing that we want our shoppers to think about during this critically important time for our small businesses, so we hope that everyone will join us in downtown Red Bank and shop local this holiday season."

RiverCenter highlighted some great stops for shoppers in town on its Facebook site:

The Local Line has a "Greetings from Red Bank" ornament designed by artbymelissairene with each letter showcasing a different landmark in town, Rivercenter said.

And for indoor shopping, there is the Galleria. There are stores that offer custom framing, luxury bedding and home goods, jewelry and more.

Then there is the fun elf sighting you can join in on.

Stop by the Visitors Center at 140 Broad Street or download an official scavenger hunt from redbank.org.

Visit the businesses that have reporting sightings and document your findings.

All completed pamphlets get entered to win a Red Bank prize pack as a thank you.

If you snap a photo make sure to tag RiverCenter #redbankelf so they can keep track.

The hunt goes on until Dec. 24.

And if you just want to stroll around town to take in the holiday lights, RiverCenter suggests a stroll past trees all lit up for the holidays: the tree at Riverside Gardens Park on Front Street and the tree at Johnny Jazz Park on Shrewsbury Avenue, which just had a tree lighting on Dec. 9.
