Glamor Available for Your Cancer Fight

Elio Ventrella, owner of the Glambar in Red Bank, is offering free blowouts to breast cancer patients.

During his own breast cancer fight, Elio Ventrella said regular trips to the salon for a bit of pampering were a necessary contrast to the days undergoing chemo and radiation therapy. These moments, he said during an interview earlier this month, where when he was able to forget about the disease threatening his life, escape his present reality and feel good about himself.

It was these trips, Ventrella said, that helped keep his head above a rising tide.

Now, the owner of the recently-opened Glam Bar, a full-service blowout bar on Broad Street is hoping to provide the same feeling of comfort he received during his fight by offering breast cancer patients glam bar services free of charge. Whether its developing a signature blowout that will best work with a wig or hair piece, or providing services at the brow and make-up bars, its free.
