Legacy Of Martin Luther King Jr. Will Be Celebrated In Red Bank

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be marked in Red Bank with a Community Commemorative Celebration Monday.

RED BANK, NJ — A Community Commemorative Celebration to honor the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will take place Monday, Jan. 15, at The Vogel, Count Basie Center for the Arts, on Monmouth Street.

The event, sponsored by Pilgrim Baptist Church, Count Basie Center for the Arts and Community Partners of Red Bank, will take place at 11 a.m.

Monday is the national holiday dedicated to King, a civil rights icon who was assassinated in 1968.

The speaker will be Rabbi Douglas Sagal of Congregation B'nai Israel in Rumson.
