Menna Lambasts Republican Leaders Over Gay Rights

At a recent Pride event in Red Bank, Mayor Pat Menna told the young people in the audience to use their votes to help encourage equality.

Red Bank Mayor Pat Menna's message to the assembled crowd of young adults at Wednesday evening's first annual event was clear: don't stand for disingenuous political leaders who don't have your best interests at heart.

Menna encouraged those old enough to vote to exercise their rights and to send a message to those leaders - specifically those leaders in Monmouth County - who have failed to represent the interests of all the county's people, especially the local LGBT population.

Menna narrowed his focus on two officials, State Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande, R-11, and State Sen. Joe Kyrillos, R-13, part of a group Menna said has claimed to support equal rights for all but has betrayed the LGBT community in Trenton.
