Mourning Two with Strong Red Bank Ties

It's what's going on in the Red Bank-Shrewsbury area on Tuesday.

Good morning, friends and fans. Hope you had a nice long weekend.

Back to the work week and local summer. Speaking of local summer, there's only a 20 percent chance of rain today. And temperatures are forecasted as mild, with a high of 80 degrees.

If you're ready to dive into some local summer sun and water, check out the tide table for Sea Bright:

And, here's your daily dose of sun and moon information from www.tides4fishing.com:

"The lunar phase is a Waning Crescent. Today we will have 12 hours and 58 minutes of sun. The solar transit will be at 12:55 pm and the length of time the moon will be visible will be 13 hours and 33 minutes."

What's going on …

Don't forget to get over to Lunch Break and bring whatever's left of your fresh veggies from your garden to share with those in need. They'll be there for the taking and tasting for those who need and want them. A great, simple way to share and care with summer harvest.

The Red Bank Planning Board meeting slated for tomorrow night has been cancelled.

There are some Tuesday meal deals in the area. Check out the Flavour website for specifics about Red Bank restaurants.

Flavour of the month, from Flavour, is apples. Pick up a recipe card from Dean's Natural Food Market in Shrewsbury, the Flavour folks say on their Facebook page.

Lifetime Red Bank resident Tony Falvo and longtime Red Bank ob/gyn Dr. Eugene Cantor have passed away. Services for Dr. Cantor are this morning and Tony's start this afternoon. RIP to both.

We have more back-to-school information in store, stories on businesses and features. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, I'll see you around the towns ...
