NJ Weekend Weather: Mostly Sunny At Jersey Shore, Chance of Rain

It's going to be mostly sunny at the Jersey Shore, with only a slight chance of intermittent showers this weekend.

JERSEY SHORE - It's time to start making plans for the weekend ahead, New Jersey. Lucky for you, it's going to be mostly sunny at Jersey Shore, with only a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday is expected to see sunny skies with temperatures approaching 80 degrees and a light breeze. Saturday may very well be partly sunny with a high near 77 degrees. The biggest chance of showers on Saturday will be after 3 p.m. with a 30 percent chance of precipitation. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible.

A slight chance of showers is again in the forecast before 9 a.m. on Sunday, then again after 3 p.m. The chance of precipitation is only 20 percent, with sunny skies expected the rest of the day.

Temperatures up to 80 degrees can also be expected on Sunday.

An Air Quality Alert is also in effect in counties across the Garden State until 11 p.m. on Friday, including Monmouth, Ocean, Burlington, Camden and Middlesex counties.

"An Ozone Action Day has been declared for Friday, August 6th, 2021," the National Weather Service said in a statement. "High pressure building overhead will allow for mostly sunny skies,
warm temperatures, and light southwesterly winds across New Jersey. As a result, ozone levels are forecast to rise into the unhealthy for sensitive groups category for portions of the I-95 corridor and central New Jersey. Sensitive individuals, including the very young, the elderly, and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma, should avoid strenuous activities during the afternoon and early evening hours."

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: A chance of showers, mainly after 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Saturday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers before 9am, then a slight chance of showers after 3 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday Night: A slight chance of showers before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
