RED BANK, NJ — The Artists Open Hearts for Lunch Break online auction returns beginning Friday, June 2.
More than 30 artists are participating in this fourth annual online, mixed-media art auction from June 2 to June 11. There will be a preview/bidding exhibition from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 7 at the Anderson building, 200 Monmouth St., Red Bank.
Last year, the auction generated more than $37,000 from community members to support Lunch Break operations, according to Lunch Break.

“We are so grateful to the arts community for supporting Lunch Break, and for their compassion for their neighbors in need,” said Lunch Break Executive Director Gwendolyn O. Love. “Each piece was donated with love.”
In previous years, local and out-of-state artists have donated paintings, prints, photographs, ceramics and sculpture for Lunch Break, the food-security and social service organization based in Red Bank.

This year, the auction will include pieces from rock music and celebrity photographer Mark Weiss, and from Luba Caruso, known for her seascapes. There will be ceramic “Empty Bowls” crafted by students, along with selections from many other talented - and generous - local artists.
“There’s something for everyone. Each piece is remarkable and a wonderful investment,” says local artist and event organizer Kevin Leahy. “We even have lovely artwork donated by our talented, emerging artists.”
Lunch Break board member and event organizer Tina Pflaster adds: “Last year’s auction was so successful and generated much excitement among bidders. We expect this year to be even more thrilling. The artwork and craft selections are incredible.”
She adds: “Our terrific committee, including Lunch Break Development Director Jill Govel-Gwydir, has worked hard to recruit exciting artists, so there’s a varied and interesting auction lineup for bidding.”
Tickets for the preview exhibition are $50 and are available online at this link.
