Patch Picks - Super Bowl Sunday

Want to know where to watch the big game this weekend? Check it out here.

If you’re looking for a place to watch the Super Bowl you’ve got plenty of options right here in town. If you’re looking for something low key, several Red Bank establishments are offering you a place to watch the game while allowing viewers – probably – to avoid some of the larger crowds that tend to pack the joint on Super Sunday.

Jamian’s on Monmouth Street will have a number of dedicated screens, including their projection screen, displaying the game. They will also have a number of draft and food specials for the big game.

Walt Street Pub is keeping it simple too, but is offering a buffet for the Super Bowl to entice super eaters.

If you’re looking to enjoy the game with a bigger crowd, you’ll likely find it right on Front Street. While The Downtown is hosting live music downstairs, its upstairs room will be completely dedicated to all things Super Bowl. With two 10-foot by 10-foot screens showing all the action, and surround sound blaring all the bone-crunching hits, there’s a good chance visitors will get a little more out of the experience than if they were to watch the game at home. The Downtown is also promising free giveaways. Though this years items haven’t been announced, The Downtown gave away a 55-inch television, a snowboard, and a kegerator during its Super Bowl party last year.

Those who want to get a little bit out of town should head over to Bogart’s Bistro and Bar on Hope Road in nearby Tinton Falls. Bogart’s has nearly 20 televisions as well as a number of drink and food specials for the Super Bowl. Bogart’s is also offering giveaway prizes.

Yes, it’s the Super Bowl, but at least one church is reminding folks that it’s still God’s day, too. The Pilgrim Baptist Church in Red Bank is inviting parishioners to attend a special Super Sunday 11am mass and reception afterwards. And, of course, those who attend are invited to wear their favorite football jerseys.
