Fire crews responded to a vehicle engulfed in flames on the shoulder of the Garden State Parkway Sunday evening, officials said.

TINTON FALLS, NJ - Fire crews responded to a vehicle engulfed in flames on the shoulder of the Garden State Parkway Sunday evening, officials said.

Crews from Tinton Falls Fire Company No. 1 were dispatched to the blaze around 5:43 p.m. near Garden State Parkway mile marker 107.5 in the northbound express lane, the fire company said via social media.

No injuries were reported, fire officials said.

A passerby who filmed the fire response noted the driver hit a box in the right lane of the parkway, prompting smoke coming from the car’s air vents.
