Sweet! Popping In to Lil' Cutie Pops

The store opened on April 12

If the mood strikes to pop in somewhere local for something sweet, Lil’ Cutie Pops is serving up a reminder that it's open for business.

"April showers bring cake pops," said the lettering on the store window. After a ribbon-cutting and celebration on April 12, the newest sweets shop in Red Bank, at 16 Monmouth Street, has been offering cake pops, in a variety of flavors, such as peanut butter cup and salted caramel, and more designer sweet morsels.

"I wish I could grab one," posted Patti Duff Brown on the Lil' Cutie Pops Facebook page under a photo of the peanut butter cup pops. "They look so good!"

The shop, owned by Melanie Pomerico, also carries specialty pops, featuring original decorations and motifs, including fish, butterflies, angry birds and famous fictional characters, according to its Facebook page.

Flavored marshmallows are another unique offering, featuring a tropical pineapple walnut, peanut butter and jelly and vanilla chocolate chip, among others.

"Worth every bite," posted Renee Michelle Moreau about the peanut butter and jelly layered marshmallows. "If you're going to indulge, make it small, but REALLY SUPER AWESOME! The Pops are my fave, but I may have to try these ..."

And, staff reminds all on the Facebook page, French macaroons are a specialty.
