Red Bank Resident Rita Harmon Dies at 91

Services begin on Friday.

Red Bank resident Rita Harmon passed away peacefully on Sept. 18 at 91.

Born on December 17, 1921 in Rochester, New York, after Rita met her husband, Lawrence, they moved to Saddlebrook, where they raised their family. She later resided in Red Bank.

She is predeceased by: her parents James and Lillis; her beloved husband of 35 years, Lawrence; and her brothers, James Jr. and Paul.

Rita is survived by: daughters, Susan Eastburn, and Kathy Browne; grandchildren Laura, Richard, Alyson and Amy; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was known as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother who loved being with her family, going to church and taking trips to Atlantic City.

Rita will be reposing on Friday, Sept. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1735 Route 35 Middletown.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle in Saddlebrook. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
